A look at TVnina, Composer and Shape 3.0 - Dassault Systèmes 3DVIA Technology

With Google's Sketchup and Linden Lab's Second Life now established, do not forget Autodesk (AutoCad, 3DS/Max, Maya) & Dassault Systèmes (3DVIA, Solidworks) have their futures solidly set on 3D. They obviously have the graphics, toolset & GUI programmers to develop high end 3D products for their government/military & Global Fortune 500 industrial customers and even a few webby toys. You just will not see much about them in the Web 2.0 hype reportage unless you are tuned in to their product pipelines. Here are a few samples from Dassault.

3DVIA Shape 3.0, the latest release of our free 3D modeling software, is now available for download. This new version extends powerful freeform modeling to everyone, allowing for the creation of smooth, curved surfaces for boats, planes, rockets or anything from the imagination. (Looks like Google SketchUp has gotten someones attention)
