For all you fashionistas in SL, drool. Think about the day that inexpensivve chipsets along with SL and or other virtual world platforms will render real time work of this quality and beyond.
When your a virtual world you sometimes forget that digital online content is sold many places on the net and there are tens of thousands of 3D artists. There is Flash 3D & Silverlight for the browser, cad programs like Sketchup, AutoCad and SolidWorks , low end and high end rendering and animation packages from Blender to Maya.
Each has a market for content. There are firms that just produce games, others movies, architectural walkthroughs, fashion promotions. I can go on and on. Someday I may attempt to map all these in one place with links but for now I will just share one of my favorite sites for content:
